De vrije radio-site B92 op het Internet, bekend om zijn oppositie tegen de Joegoslavische president Milosevic is geblokkeerd voor de studenten en de faculteiten in voormalig Joegoslavië.
ANEM, de Association of Independent Electronic Media in Joegoslavië heeft bekend gemaakt dat de toegang tot de server waarop B92 draait is afgesloten voor het Academische Netwerk.
ANEM heeft de gebruikers van het Academische Netwerk medegedeeld dat de vrije B92 site “will be
made available via mirror sites to pre-empt further censorship of the Free B92 website”.
“The University of Belgrade […] has paid much more attention to control than freedom in the matter of information.”, aldus de ANEM.
De blokkade is “the most direct form of Internet censorship and deplores the fact that this censorship has been promoted and executed by the Academic Network, which, in normal circumstances, should be in the frontline of defence of the free flow of information.”(Web-Krant)
