De ‘3FM jaarmix’ van DJ Sandstorm stond in de afgelopen weken op losse schroeven door onduidelijkheid bij de TROS over een financiële vergoeding voor DJ Sandstorm. De Vara hechtte wel veel waarde aan de jaarmix. Daarom werd de jaarmix op oudejaarsdag uitgezonden door DJ Rob Stenders in ‘Stenders Vroeg’.
Voor iedereen die de Jaarmix van 2003 niet heeft gehoord, deze is nu te downloaden op een website van DJ Patrick Kicken. Daarnaast heeft hij ook de jaarmixen van 2002 en 2001 online gezet. Of de Radio 3FM jaarmix van Sander Verhaar, ook bekend als DJ Sandstorm, wordt herhaald op Radio 3FM is nu nog niet bekend. In de voorgaande jaren was de jaarmix ook te downloaden via de website van Sandstorm maar op aandringen van stichting BREIN werd de mix afgelopen jaar al na enkele dagen van de website verwijderd.
